There’s An App For That
It seems like everyone has a smartphone these days, if they don’t they have an iPad, iPod, Kindle or Nook. These machines seem to do everything and can also keep us on track mentally and physically constantly providing new updates. Besides the addicting Angry Birds, there are apps that can help keep you on track on your mission to stay in shape. Check out some of our favorites and share your own!
Tap & Track, $3.99
This app, for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, is great because it’s personal. It focuses on the amount of calories you should be eating each day depending on how active you are, even factoring in what type of job you have. By entering what you’re eating and how much you’re exercising, it charts your progress and lets you know if you’re on track. MyFitnessPal is a similar app for both Android and Mac products that’s available for free. With more than 1,100,000 foods in their database, you’ll have no problem counting the calories you need to. Doesn’t get much easier than that!
BodyFate Workout, $1.99
This app is exciting because it creates a personalized workout that’s fun. By typing in your fitness level, how much time you have and the equipment around you, it will show you a series of exercises to work your whole body. Great if you’re traveling and on the go, you can have a new workout anytime, anywhere. So simple, this app will throw all those excuses out the door.
Endomondo Sports Tracker, Free
This app for the Android is great for those already addicted to exercise. Great for runners cyclists, joggers and even walkers, this app can track your time, distance, speed and altitude. It also keeps a history of your workouts so you can track your personal progress. Free of charge, there’s no reason not to check it out.
Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock, $0.99
This app is gaining steam and amazing people all over. Your iPhone becomes a sleep phase monitor, detecting your natural sleep pattern and waking you up when you’re at your lightest cycle. You’ll be woken up when you can be the most rested for the day.
Liquid Mantra, $0.99
